Build a BOQ that explains the work
A bill of quantities brings the specification, measurement unit, quantity and rate together. This worksheet starts with eight editable scopes, from painting and joinery to furniture and design services. Replace them with the work your project actually needs.
- Describe the scope. Record the room, material or product specification, finish and installation work. Name exclusions and the quote reference in the notes.
- Confirm measurements. Use measured quantities in the unit used by the quote. A room’s floor area is not automatically its wall-painting area or cabinet quantity.
- Enter the quoted rate. Check whether it includes supply, labour, transport, wastage and tax. A package rate needs a clearly stated package scope.
- Resolve incomplete rows. The subtotal includes priced items only. The total remains incomplete until every active row and both adjustment amounts are complete. Remove unused starter items.
- Save a revision. Include a date or revision in the project name. Download the worksheet file to resume here, or export CSV values to share for review.
Compare quotes on the same scope
Keep separate worksheet files for different quotes. Compare the same specification, unit and quantity before comparing totals. Record alternatives separately so an omitted item or a different finish does not look like a saving.
Quantities accept up to three decimal places; rates and adjustments accept two. Each line is rounded to the nearest paise before summing. Negative values and scientific notation are not supported. This tool does not provide market rates or infer measurements from images.

Using the Excel version
The workbook has 50 prepared item rows, editable input cells, line formulas, missing-input status and a summary. Enter your project details and quote date, clear unused starter scopes, and keep the grey formula cells intact. The downloadable workbook begins blank of quantities and rates; it does not import entries from this page.
Does Aangan save or send this estimate?
No. Worksheet entries remain in your tab. Save the worksheet file to retain them. Visiting a design brief or downloading the Excel template does not send your estimate to a professional.
Can I use this for a whole home?
Yes, within the 50-row worksheet. Use the room field to distinguish areas and describe shared work explicitly. For a larger or more detailed measured BOQ, develop a project-specific schedule with your professional.
Is the Excel download my completed online estimate?
No. It is a fresh formula-based template. Export CSV for the figures you entered online, or save the worksheet file to restore those entries on this page.
Bring the scope into your design conversation
Use your reviewed scope and budget to prepare a brief. Your worksheet stays separate, so you can choose what to share.
